The Satell Institute’s exciting Spring 2025 Private CEO Conference will be held on May 6th — and the event is now at capacity.

Taking place at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia (and also available via livestream), the invitation-only conference — open to SI’s CEO members and their invited guests — will highlight the powerful benefits that Corporate Social Responsibility provides to businesses, nonprofits and communities. In a time of change and uncertainty, CSR creates unprecedented inspiration and builds unique trust among all stakeholders.

As always, the conference will feature engaging, rapid-fire remarks from leading CSR practitioners, along with audience Q&A.

Jay Sugarman, Chairman and Majority Owner of the Philadelphia Union, will offer the keynote address. Sugarman is also Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of iStar, a leading commercial real estate company with a $6 billion portfolio, as well as Founder, Chairman and CEO of Safehold. Sugarman will focus on the importance of CSR and the value of community engagement for businesses.

“Jay Sugarman has a rare ability to challenge and inspire at the same time,” says Paul Howard, SI’s regional vice president. “During my time with the Philadelphia Union Foundation, he pushed me to think differently — to identify our strategic advantage, be bold, and lead with purpose. Jay’s approach to Corporate Social Responsibility is rooted in that same philosophy: smart, ambitious, and always focused on making a lasting impact.”

Other speakers include:

Meg Kane, CEO/Host City Executive, Philadelphia Soccer 2026

George Leone, CEO, Homecoming 250

Donna Bullock, CEO, Project Home

The speakers shared their excitement about the event, and the impact of the Satell Institute.

“This event is an invaluable opportunity to connect with leaders who understand that business success and social responsibility aren’t competing priorities, but rather complementary forces that strengthen each other and our region,” says Kane.

“I have been inspired by the leadership and mission of the Satell Institute,” offers Leone “and our effort embodies the values for which it stands.”

“The diverse membership of the Satell Institute reflects our region’s deep commitment to ending homelessness,” says Bullock. “It’s Ed Satell’s vision in action — compassionate, committed civic leaders uniting with social impact organizations to build a healthier, stronger, and more just Philadelphia.”

The speaker presentations will be followed by SI’s hallmark CEO Idea and Experience Exchange roundtables, giving attendees the opportunity to engage in conversations with their peers about CSR.

SI is all about community and member leadership, and so we thank our Conference Chair, Reverend Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake, president of the Independence Blue Cross Foundation, as well as our outstanding Conference Committee.

Special thanks to the thoughtful offer by Conference Committee member Paul Marvel of RSM, and to his team members Andrea Moore and Justin Zimmerman, who are volunteering at the Conference.  And past Conference Chair David DeStefano’s Executive Assistant at Vertex Inc., Beth Zygmunt, is volunteering with us again. This is Beth’s fifth Conference— you may recognize her at the registration table.  Regina offers a special thank you for this great Member support!

The invitation-only conference will begin with a networking breakfast at 8 a.m. The event will conclude promptly at 11:30 a.m.
