“Corteva Agriscience™ is proud to collaborate with the Food Bank of Delaware to provide hunger-relief programs through the new four-acre farm. We’re committed to addressing food security issues on both a global and local scale.”

DuPont is teaming up with the Food Bank of Delaware to put an end to hunger in the state of Delaware.

DuPont has joined the Satell Institute Collective Force as a founding corporate member by making a four-year pledge to the Food Bank of Delaware. The Food Bank of Delaware aims to provide nutritious foods to Delawareans in need and facilitate long-term solutions to the problems of hunger and poverty through community education and advocacy. The Food Bank distributed more than 8 million pounds of food last year alone.

DuPont supports the Food Bank of Delaware with both sponsorship dollars and volunteers. DuPont employees pick apples during the autumn season that then get donated to the Food Bank. Additionally, DuPont employees often volunteer at Food Bank of Delaware distribution centers. Corteva Agriscience, the agricultural division of DowDuPont, also recently donated $400,000 to the Food Bank, driving the establishment of a new four-acre farm that will produce 60,000 pounds of food by the year 2022.

“We are thankful that Corteva Agriscience™ believes in the vision and opportunities that are presented here at 222 Lake Drive (location of the new farm). 222 Lake Drive will not be a traditional food bank warehouse. It will be a hub of innovation as we work to end hunger in the First State. This farm will enable us to train Delawareans and grow our on foods to support both social enterprise businesses and our traditional hunger-relief programs.”
