SI Debuts Expanded and Easier-to-Use Think Tank Resources
Whether you’re working with your team to craft an effective CSR strategy, or preparing a presentation for your board, the Think Tank is an irreplaceable tool.
Campbell Soup’s Kate Barrett is one of the CSR leaders highlighted in “CEOs for CSR,” new video segments that are part of SI’s enhanced Think Tank resources
Since its founding a decade ago, the Satell Institute has championed two important missions.
As a Do Tank, SI empowers CEOs to lean into Corporate Social Responsibility, giving them exclusive opportunities to share ideas with their peers while forging deep ties with nonprofit organizations.
As a Think Tank, SI keeps CEO members abreast of the latest research on, and best practices in, CSR.
SI is thrilled to announce the expansion and enhancement of the Think Tank section of the Satell Institute website.
The Think Tank now gives Satell Institute members even more helpful resources. Whether you’re working with your team to craft an effective CSR strategy, or preparing a presentation for your board about the many benefits of CSR, the Think Tank is an irreplaceable tool.
Special thanks to the small working group who spearheaded this initiative, including Mark Baiada, chairman of Bayada Home Healthcare; Tony Conti, SI’s executive vice chair; John Elliott, former dean of the UConn School of Business; Greg Hagin, managing partner of CCS Fundraising; and Dr. Ariel Schwartz, managing director of the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Social Impact Strategy.
“I applaud the Institute for regularly looking for ways to make the Think Tank even more relevant in these changing times of Corporate Social Responsibility, and for making it easier to use,” says Conti.
“The Satell Institute champions socially responsible behavior by encouraging businesses to think of ‘We, not Me,’" says Elliott. “The Think Tank portion of the Institute's website provides many examples of companies making a difference and shows both how and why this happens.”
CEO Perspectives, Academic Research, and More
The latest version of the Think Tank includes numerous enhancements:
· CEOs for CSR. These fast, smart, beautifully produced videos feature more than a dozen of SI’s most active CEO members talking about Corporate Social Responsibility, with more being added. You can hear from…
* JP Morgan managing director Stephen Wright on the brand benefits of CSR
* OceanFirst Bank executive Susanne Svizeny on how CSR deepens relationships with customers
* Essential Utilities CEO Chris Franklin on why CSR is a differentiator for investors
* Campbell Soup Foundation president Kate Barrett on why CSR is now an essential business strategy
· Updated — More User-Friendly — Academic Research. The enhanced website features dozens of new articles about CSR, along with “Practitioner Executive Summaries.” These brief, clear summaries, written exclusively for SI members by the team at Penn’s Center for Social Impact Strategy, cut to the heart of the what the research shows — and make it easier to implement takeaways.
· An Updated and Expanded CSR Glossary. The glossary section has long been one of the Think Tank’s most popular features. Because CSR continues to evolve, it’s now been tripled in size, with new terms to help you understand the ongoing conversation about CSR and community impact.
· New Initiative: CSR By the Numbers. These statistics demonstrate how community investment and corporate purpose connect to employee engagement, business priorities, and public expectations. Explore the numbers behind the decisions that leaders are making.
· New Section: Practitioners’ Perspective. This section links to contemporary articles, multimedia resources, and podcasts about CSR. While academic literature provides theory and empirical evidence about CSR, these resources offer valuable insight into how CSR is discussed and put into practice at successful companies.
Team Effort
These enhancements came about because of true collaboration. Special thanks to:
· Ariel Schwartz, managing director of the Center for Social Impact Strategy, and her amazing team, especially Montana Tamny and Abigail Dickson.
· Jeff Santoleri and the Camos Media team, which produced the new videos.
