SI’s Peer-to-Peer Roundtables Lead to Powerful Conversations — and Actions
Always the high point of the Satell Institute’s CEO Conferences, the roundtables “are where the magic happens.”
Since SI’s founding a decade ago, members have been unanimous about one thing:
The highlight of any Satell Institute Private CEO Conference is the peer-to-peer roundtable discussions that always cap off the event.
The roundtables give CEO members and their guests the chance to forge connections and share ideas with their fellow business leaders.
In fact, nothing cements the Satell Institute’s identity as a CEO organization more than the lively and inspiring conversations that take place at those tables.
“The roundtable discussions at each conference are where the magic happens,” says Geoff Brandon, Market President of TD Bank and chair of the CEO Conference taking place in Philadelphia on November 4th. “The varying perspectives and experiences at each table always make for a rich conversation.”
And often, more than that.
A Chance to Connect at SI’s Fall Conferences
Over the next few weeks, SI members will have the opportunity to take part in a brand new round of discussions at SI’s Fall Private CEO Conferences. Here’s the full schedule:
October 21 – Baltimore CEO Conference (Living Classrooms Foundation)
October 22 – Washington D.C. CEO Conference (Capital One Arena); Pittsburgh CEO Conference (Highmark Auditorium)
November 4 – Philadelphia CEO Conference (National Constitution Center)
"Satell's roundtables are energizing, inspiring, and engaging,” says longtime SI member Anthony Mongeluzo, Founder and CEO of South Jersey technology company PCS. “You always walk away from your table with an extra pep in your step and a fire to do more."
Transformative Conversations
Often, the roundtable conversations are more than just inspiring; they lead to direct action and change.
At last spring’s CEO Conference in Philadelphia, Felicite Moorman, cofounder of fintech startup BOSS.tech, was seated at a table with David Patti of Customers Bank. After hearing briefly about Moorman’s business, Patti offered to introduce her to Luvleen Sidhu, founder of BM Technologies, one of America’s largest digital banking platforms.
Moorman and her co-founder met with Sidhu, who not only shared her perspectives about the industry, but made a number of further introductions. Moorman says the series of conversations has completely changed BOSS.tech’s strategic trajectory.
The connection at the SI conference, Moorman says, “just opened so many doors.”
What’s more, she adds, it symbolizes what can happen at a Satell Institute event. “You never know who you’re sitting with at that table who’s going to impact and improve your life. It’s such a high-level group of people who are thinking deeply about their work and about how to engage the community.”
Learning from Others
The takeaways can apply to any part of a business.
“I always walk away from the table sessions not only energized but full of ideas that could benefit our firm,” says Joe Dougherty, shareholder and immediate past Chair and CEO of the law firm Buchanan. “We have enacted two initiatives — a firmwide Day of Service and an employee emergency fund — that came directly from these roundtable discussions. Participating in these exercises has had a lasting impact on our organization. I’m grateful to have enjoyed and taken advantage of these opportunities.”
