Photos and Highlights from SI’s Outstanding National Conference

The first-ever event attracted more than 750 leaders for two days of inspiring conversations about Corporate Social Responsibility and community impact.

Inside the National Constitution Center

The Satell Institute’s first-ever National Conference is complete — and it was a roaring success.

The Semiquincentennial event — which included a charming Mother’s Day Tea aboard the historic Colebrookdale Railroad as well as our first National Nonprofit Summit and National CEO Conference — was attended by more than 750 SI members and invited guests from nine states and three countries. It was a celebration of America’s founding, the Satell Institute’s 10th anniversary, and Ed Satell’s 90th birthday.

A.J. Jordan; Tim McDermott; and Leslie Walker

Our thanks to our amazing event chairs. A.J. Jordan of the Vanguard Foundation and Tim McDermott of the Philadelphia Union co-chaired our outstanding CEO Conference, while Leslie Walker of the Sixers Youth Foundation chaired our memorable Nonprofit Summit. Their leadership and insightful remarks created the environment for two perfect mornings at the National Constitution Center. They were supported by our two amazing conference committees, who contributed invaluable ideas and energy that made the events so successful.

Paige Alexander and Michael Thatcher

We’re also grateful to our keynote speakers — Paige Alexander of The Carter Center and Michael Thatcher of Charity Navigator — who delivered such timely and thoughtful comments.

David Griffith; Danielle Scott; David Finegold; Geoff Brandon; and Regina Black-Lennox

Our Member speakers and panelists — David Griffith of the Modern Group, Danielle Scott of the Pincus Family Foundation, and David Finegold of Golub Capital at our Nonprofit Summit; Geoff Brandon of TD Bank at our CEO Conference — were equally insightful and inspiring!

Our inspiring Scouts

We were thrilled to begin each event with an Honor Guard of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts who presented Colors and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem.

Youth Diplomats (with some old friends)

And we were supported by the Youth Diplomats of the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia, whose volunteer help was invaluable.

Nathaniel Guest; Vince Stango; Tony Conti; and Jennifer Alleva

Our gratitude to Nathaniel Guest and the Colebrookdale Railroad and Vince Stango and the National Constitution Center for their hospitality; SI executive vice chair Tony Conti for his incomparable emcee skills; and Jennifer Alleva and Your Part-Time Controller for co-sponsoring (along with the Sixers Youth Foundation) the Nonprofit Summit lunch.
