SI to Host An Elegant Mother’s Day Tea Aboard the Colebrookdale Railroad

Hop aboard to enjoy fine dining, celebrate history, and honor moms.

As part of the ongoing celebration of America’s 250th birthday and SI’s own 10th anniversary, the Satell Institute is thrilled to announce a memorable Mother’s Day event.

On May 10th, SI will host a special Mother’s Day tea aboard the Colebrookdale Railroad in Boyertown, Pa. This is an amazing opportunity, open exclusively to SI members and their families, to enjoy an elevated hospitality experience and celebrate history while honoring the extraordinary contributions of mothers.

Lauded by the White House, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and other prestigious organizations, the Colebrookdale Railroad, an SI Nonprofit Affiliate, is an award-winning heritage rail attraction. The railroad provides scenic excursions in meticulously restored, century-old rail cars, traveling along a corridor in Berks and Montgomery counties known for its history and beauty.

A Special Event Curated for SI

In this special experience, guests will be welcomed at the railroad’s Edwardian-style ticket station, where they will receive their commemorative Golden Ticket. As they stroll along the brick pathway toward the platform, antique gas lanterns cast a warm glow that fills the railyard, creating a scene rich in charm and nostalgia.

The railroad’s conductor will personally greet guests and share a brief introduction before inviting them to the platform for boarding. As guests step aboard, a five-star White Coat service staff will offer a glass of champagne and escort each guest to their seat.

Once seated, Black Coat attendants will present each mother with a single flower and a petite box of chocolates — a heartfelt gesture honoring the women we celebrate. The experience is completed by fresh floral arrangements, vintage lighting, and the inviting aroma of a refined tea service, offerings of assorted tea sandwiches, fresh baked goods and sweets thoughtfully prepared to be worthy of royalty.

Joining Us

SI members who wish to be part of this amazing excursion can do so through an invitation that will be emailed separately. Seating is limited. While the event is subsidized, there is a cost to attend.

The Satell Institute wishes to thank the Colebrookdale Railroad team for their efforts in organizing this truly special event!
