Why SI Is Grateful for an Extraordinary Year

With remarkable growth in membership and record attendance at events, the Satell Institute has unmatched momentum.

The Fall CEO Conference in Philadelphia attracted a record crowd of Members and guests.

As 2025 comes to an end, the Satell Institute couldn’t be more excited about the momentum we’re continuing to build — and the impact our members are having. Corporate Social Responsibility has never been more vital.

Some highlights from this amazing year:

Growth and Expansion

In 2025, the Satell Institute grew by 90 Members and 119 Nonprofit Affiliates—a more than 30 percent increase!

With the additional investment in regional leaders, Pittsburgh has significantly expanded with great companies; New York is now firmly established; Baltimore, Long Island, and Washington D.C. are underway, with their beginning signups already established. Sub-chapters in Southern New Jersey and Delaware are also thriving.

We’ve also held a series of sold-out events with prominent local speakers. On a wonderful note, these expansion events are being hosted for us by Members and potential Members at little or no additional cost to the Institute, for which we are grateful.

Much of this growth is thanks to the great work of our three Market Leaders, Jake Dawson, Paul Howard and Jason Riley. Each is making strong strides in his territory.

Outstanding CEO Conferences

This fall, our chapters in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore and DC each hosted their own Private CEO Conferences — with amazing success. (New York will hold its first CEO Conference in March.) The Philadelphia conference set a record for attendance, and all the conferences earned wonderful feedback from Members and their guests. Thanks to our conference chairs and outstanding conference committees for their work.

An Extraordinary New Website

At the recommendation of our Members, we invested in a revised and updated website.

Of special note are the new fully searchable directories. In addition to the comprehensive Member Directory, our Members suggested creating a Nonprofit Affiliate Directory to list all of the mission areas covered by each nonprofit. This now includes 28 nonprofit mission areas. Feedback on the new website has been uniformly positive.

We’re also investing in an updated Think Tank, in collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania. It’s under significant refurbishment, and we’ll be announcing more early in the new year.

Impact

Most importantly, the impact that our Members and Nonprofit Affiliates are making in communities only continues to grow. Members have now committed more than $170 million to the nonprofit organizations they support. That number reflects the way our Members have embraced the Satell Institute’s motto, “COMMUNITY IS EVERY LEADER’S BUSINESS."

So far, all of SI’s geographic areas are being supported by Philadelphia’s endowment. Looking forward, it will be necessary for each major area to establish its own endowment of $6 million over time. Such sponsors will be known as “the champions of CSR” in that area.” While the endowment in Philadelphia was contributed by one person, in other regions this could be split among several organizations. Let us know of candidates for such a sponsorship, which can create tremendous value for an organization, including increased retention and lower turnover.

We’re grateful to all our Members and Nonprofit Affiliates for their support of our mission. Next year makes the Satell Institute’s 10th anniversary, and we’re planning many exciting initiatives as our growth and expansion continue. Thanks to all — and warm wishes for a Happy New Year.
