The event will feature a nationally renowned financial services CEO, a recognized expert economist, and SI’s hallmark peer-idea sharing sessions.

The Satell Institute, the leading CEO organization dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), has been growing at an unprecedented rate — welcoming dozens of new CEO members as it expands into new regions and markets.
In October, the organization will add to that momentum with its highly anticipated Fall 2024 Private CEO conference. Entitled “In a Volatile World, How CSR Unites with Purpose,” the event will bring together hundreds of influential CEOs and business leaders for a morning of rapid-fire presentations and stimulating conversation. The focus will be on CSR’s unique ability to unite people, even at a time of political division.
The exclusive conference — to be held October 30th at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, with satellite conferences in Pittsburgh and Baltimore — is open to SI’s CEO members and their invited guests. A record-breaking crowd is expected to attend.
A Nationally Renowned Keynote Speaker and an Expert Economist
Highlighting the morning will be keynote speaker William H. “Bill” Rogers, Chairman and CEO of Charlotte-based Truist Financial Corporation, the seventh-largest bank in the U.S. Rogers — who has decades of experience in banking, finance, and wealth management and is a champion of Truist’s philanthropy and volunteerism efforts — will talk about the organization’s purpose-driven mission of inspiring and building better lives and communities.
In addition to Rogers, the conference will also feature a top economist from Truist offering important insights into where the economy is headed, as well as dynamic panel discussions from SI members in Philadelphia, Baltimore and Pittsburgh.
The Power of Peer-Sharing
The second half of the morning will be devoted to SI’s hallmark CEO Idea and Experience Exchange — roundtable conversations in which business leaders learn from their peers. SI’s members have consistently ranked the roundtable discussions as the most valuable part of SI’s impactful conferences.
“Executives like to have a voice. This part of the CEO conference allows them to express ideas and connect to peers,” says Marc Brownstein, Chairman of the marketing and communications firm Brownstein and a longtime Satell Institute member. “I’ve been a table moderator many times, and one thing happens time after time: the concepts shared by speakers turn into ideas that are applicable to each leader’s company.”
Rev. Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake, President of the Independence Blue Cross Foundation, has also witnessed the power of the conversations first-hand. “When we get together around the table, no idea is a bad idea,” she says. “With each contribution from my tablemates, we learn, we build, we share, and we create wonderful opportunities and strategies that we can apply in real time. I consider it a privilege and honor to be the moderator. I always walk away energized and invigorated.”
Importantly, the roundtable conversations are free from any fundraising requests. The purpose is simply for leaders to share and learn. “It’s not often that CEOs can sit around the table with peers and talk about the critical topic of Corporate Social Responsibility, without someone asking them for money,” says Anthony Conti, the Satell Institute’s longtime Vice Chair. “In fact, one of the critical elements around the peer exchange is making certain that the nonprofit community participants at the table do not ask for money.”
SI’s Unprecedented Growth
The Fall CEO Conference is being chaired by SI member Travis Rhodes, Truist’s Executive Vice President and Regional President for Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Dozens of SI members from Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, South Jersey and Central Pennsylvania are serving on the Conference Committee.
The conference comes at a time of unprecedented growth for the Satell Institute. Earlier this year the organization launched an exciting expansion initiative, including new chapters in Northern New Jersey, New York, Long Island, Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, and Columbus. The organization’s purpose is best encapsulated by the motto of its Founder and Chair, Ed Satell: “Think WE, not just me.”
