Learn how various STEM are important in developing good sustainable habits and learn how to pursue these fields as a career.

About the Course:

Developing good habits to utilize resources in an efficient way is the cornerstone of sustainability. But did you know that most STEM fields are necessary to track and modify resource use? In this course, we will explore multiple STEM fields and their contribution to sustainability, including: Digital Technology, Data Science, Material Science, Ecology, Oceanography, Energy and Plant Science. Included in this class will be a career exploration to understand the different facets of these STEM fields and how to pursue them professionally.

BSA Requirements:
Scouts will complete the following requirements of Sustainability Merit Badge: 1, 2 Water A, 2 Food A and B, 2 Community A, 2 Energy A and B, 3, 5 and 6;
This course is open to all youth in grades 9-12. We look forward to learning with all genders whether you are currently a Scout or not!

About the Instructors:

Our instructors are subject-matter experts either through their profession or hobby-related experiences, and are trained in the BSA Youth Protection training that includes safety measures online.
