Tozour Energy Systems has joined the Satell Institute Collective Force as a founding corporate member by making a four-year pledge to the National Liberty Museum’s Young Heroes Outreach Program (YHOP). YHOP is a yearlong initiative for students in grades 4-8. This inspiring initiative, led by professional educators, teaches students to “think like heroes” in areas of leadership, civic engagement, social justice through critical thinking, inquiry, and project-based learning. Tozour Energy Systems sponsors St. Francis de Sales Catholic School, located in West Philadelphia. In addition to its financial contribution, Tozour sends their employees as representatives to mentor the young students and the company donates goods to assist students in presenting their work.
One project that Tozour has worked on with the students of St. Francis de Sales Catholic School on is a video on racism and segregation, created by the students from their own perspective. Students choreographed a dance, wrote a rap song, shared facts and information, and performed a skit. All of were recorded so they could be shared with the entire school. In accomplishing these projects, the students themselves became “young heroes.”
