Member Partnerships

Together, PECO and the NLM are preparing the next generation of adults to be active, contributing citizens who care about the well-being of others.
PECO has joined the Satell Institute Collective Force as a founding corporate member by making a four-year pledge to the National Liberty Museum’s Young Heroes Outreach Program (YHOP). The Young Heroes Outreach Program is a yearlong initiative for students in grades 4-8. This inspiring initiative, led by professional educators, teaches students to “think like heroes” in areas of leadership, civic engagement, social justice through critical thinking, inquiry, and project-based learning. PECO has been a part of the Young Heroes Outreach Program since its inception eight years ago, and due to their commitment to this empowering program, hundreds of students have made a positive impact on their school and communities.
PECO and the National Liberty Museum also partner together for professional development sessions, staff training, and diversity and inclusion workshops. Due to the prosperity of the workshops that the National Liberty Museum coordinated and ran for PECO, the museum has begun offering workshops to other companies, which have been extremely successful. When being surrounded by people and exhibits that speak to liberty and heroism, it’s difficult to not be inspired.

Through YHOP, students between grades 4-8 develop the skills to become positive agents of change in their schools and communities. They use them to address issues like bullying, violence and abuse, like the stories of local, national and international young hero exemplars that are highlighted in the program’s curriculum.
